A thank you from Brent and Roxy

I am writing to express my deepest thanks for all of your recent donations. I am overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity you have shown Roxy and myself. I once read a quote that stated, “Dogs are not our whole Life, but they make our Life whole”. This can’t be more true in my case. Every since the day Roxy was placed into my life she has provided me with years of friendship, laughter, companionship and joy. Without the support of my loving family and friends like you I would never have been able to afford the care she deserves. I greatly appreciate all your generous donations. I will keep you all updated on her condition as time passes. Thank you so very much..God Bless..

A dog's love is unconditional. He/She will never tell you that he/she is sick of your house, "why don't you get off the couch and do something",  and he/she doesn't cost you anything to go out. When you come home He/She goes crazy, licks all over you, acts like he/she hasn't seen you for days. Many of us wish others loved us exactly like a dog loves us...
Billy Currington said it the best in his song "Like My Dog." 

Brent owner of Roxy, saved Roxy when she was a little baby in Catawba, NC. He trained her, raised her, and loved her from the very beginning. When he brought her home his parents were hesitant about letting her in the house because she is a Pit Bull. So they had her sleep out in a tent on the deck. Brent couldn't bare to see her out there alone so he would sleep on a blowup in the same tent as the dog. His parents knew this couldn't last so they eventually learned to love and adore Roxy. She was allowed in the house and is now loved by all.

Yesterday Roxy was rushed to the Vet. The Vet is still unsure as to why Roxy is struggling. She was having trouble breathing and just not acting like herself. Last night Brent was told that Roxy would need a tracheotomy in order to help her breath or put her to sleep. There was no doubt in Brent's mind that he had to put the trach in her throat. Putting her to sleep is not an option. Her medical bill sky rocketed from $700-$2,000 and is still growing.

 

Since this is the giving season, Live Eventfully wanted to help give back to Brent and poor Roxy. Roxy with the help from you and our prayers will make it through this devastating mystery.

Whispers of Winter:  Muted Silver and White and Green and Gold Wedding Palette

The Thanksgiving leftovers are barely finished, but it already seems we are headlong into the winter and holiday season.  For this month's Dress to be WEDnesday feature, Live Eventfully- KristynJennifer Events and Dress For The Wedding decided to depart from the red and green color palette so often seen in holiday decor at this time of year, and instead use the soft white, green, and metallic neutrals that are naturally found during this season for our inspiration. These colors are so subtle, we're calling them "Whispers of Winter". Whispers of Winter

Dress For The Wedding has also been inspired by these soft muted colors lately, too. They look so sophisticated! Here are my three "Whispers of Winter" looks for a bride, bridesmaid, and groom.

Winter Bridal Look: White and Gold and Sparkle

One of my favorite things about winter bridal looks is that everything looks so soft and dream-like in the winter light. I chose this organza wedding gown by Theia because I think it has such a nice ice princess look (I sound like a 6-year-old saying this, but I mean a nice kind of ice princess, not a mean one!), and I've put it with some golden accessories full of their own sparkles to warm in up. Isn't the necklace amazing?

The one winter bride must-have in my book is a faux-fur white stole (emphasis on the faux, we don't want to hurt any furry friends, here!)  I love how it looks in pictures, and it's truly needed to protect the bride from the chill as she's getting to and from the church.

Winter Bridesmaid Look: Icy Gray

I started to add some green touches to this gray dress, but I soon found that the gray by itself was so striking! Instead, perhaps the green touches could come in with pale green velvet ribbon in the flowers, and some beautiful evergreen trimmings in her bouquet and around the ceremony and the reception. Can you imagine how deliciously pine-y scented that would be? For the attire, I opted for a monochromatic icicle gray for all the accessories: some pave sparkle earrings that resemble icy snow, a sparkle clutch and a thick gray necklace, that has some pale rose tones to warm up the whole look.

Winter Groom's Look: Classic Black Tuxedo

There's nothing more classic than a groom in a tuxedo with shawl collar like this one, with an elegant tie for a winter wedding. If you're lucky enough to get snow falling, the black tux looks so sharp against the white background. You can't fool around with a tux too much, and you don't need to -- just pair it with a white shirt, and some shiny, well-made formal shoes.

I'd recommend just adding a few subtle pieces of personality, like these little dots on the otherwise black bow tie, and the whimsical skier cuff-links. I think adding a rich, wool, opera scarf for the groom to wear during outside picture taking adds some fun to the winter spirit, too!

Orange and Green Wedding - Dress to be WEDnesday

Happy Halloween, everyone! It's also the final Wednesday of the month which means it's Dress to be WEDnesday, the day that Dress for the Wedding - Sukey and I bring  you a dose of wedding inspiration through event design and wedding attire suggestions.  To pay tribute to October, we decided to show you an orange and green color palette today.

Yes, sometimes orange and green around Halloween can call to mind those chewy little candy-corn-like pumpkins the with green stem on top, but done with a refined touch, these two colors can look very sophisticated together. Taking a cue from the leaves turning orange against the green grass hills, these hues are natural together, and perfect for a fall wedding!

Then, add little touches of both the accent color and the main color, especially in your flowers and decor.
