Two-in-one Frame: (This ranges in all different sizes)

Items you will need:
Large frame – depending on what size you want
Smaller frame- depending on the size of the big frame
Paint
Wall adhesive strips
Glue gun
Flower- fake or real
Picture or picture of a saying
Scrapbook paper

1.  Paint both frames and let dry. (24 hours)

Extra: (Once dry you can sand the frames a little to make them look shabby chic. You can use any type of sand paper to do this.)
2. Place a sheet scrapbook paper in the big frame.

3. Print out a picture or saying to fit the small frame. Place the picture or saying in the small frame.

4. Now using the wall adhesive strips, place four on the back of the small frame border and position small frame on top of big frame (press down).

5. I used a dried hydrangea for this particular gift, but you can use a fake flower, or another type of flower that dries beautifully. Using a hot glue gun, glue the flower in the top left corner.

This can be used for a gift, or displayed on a wedding table, or used as the wedding table numbers/part of the centerpieces.

Thank you!!

Why Send a Thank You?
·         It’s a simple way of showing gratitude towards someone who has done something kind for you.
·         It keeps the communication loop open between you and that person.

When Are Thank You Notes Appropriate?
·         Whenever you receive a gift, send a thank-you note.
·         Whenever you interview for a job, send a thank-you note.
·         Whenever someone does something for you that is helpful for either your personal or professional life, send a thank-you note.
·         Whenever you establish a new professional contact, send a thank-you note.
·         send a thank you note when someone does something for you that has a positive impact on their life.

How to Write an Effective Thank You Note
·        Always hand write a thank you note. A handwritten thank you note has a certain level of elegance that you just can’t capture by typing and printing a note. Take out your pen and write down your thoughts. If you prefer, you can draft the note at the keyboard, but then copy your final text from the screen to the card.
·        Okay to use printed labels to save time with addressing the envelopes. As long as the note inside is handwritten, this is completely appropriate.
·        Addressing the thank you note Start off with the word “Dear,” then imagine you walked into a room and saw this person (or these people) without having seen them for a year. How would you address them? That’s what you should use next. For example, if it’s an old friend, use their first name. If it’s one of your parents’ friends that you don’t know particularly well, use Mr. and Mrs. Last-name.
·        The first sentence Say “thank you for” and state the gift or opportunity you’ve been given. Here are three examples:
-Thank you for the very generous gift on the occasion of my graduation.
-Thank you for the opportunity to interview for the “blank” position.
-Thank you for the wonderful dinner party you hosted on the 20th.
-Thank you for the set of kitchen knives you gave to us for our wedding.
·        The second piece Express a further detailed appreciation of the gift or opportunity by explaining what it meant to you or what you plan on doing with the gift. Continuing with the above examples:
-I plan on using that money to help buy textbooks in the fall.
-It was exciting and interesting to learn more about your organization and the position.
-The roasted lamb was exquisite and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know person-a and person-b.
-The knives have already found a home in our kitchen, and just last night I used the chef’s knife in preparing our first meal at home as a married couple.
·        The third piece Try to build towards a future connection with the note target. Some examples:
-I hope you’ll stop in over Thanksgiving break at my parents so we can touch base and I can tell you all about my first semester in college.
-I hope to hear from you soon about the position, and I hope that your organization and I can have a long and happy relationship.
-Marge and I are planning a dinner party of our own in October, and I’ll be sure to call you to check with your calendar very soon.
·        The signature Sign it pleasantly and friendly, no matter what.

Thoughtful Thursday

5.03.2012

I am all about gifts with thought! I could have just given my friend a generic notepad, but where is the thought in that! After working in the Corporate World, I have noticed a lot of women have notepads. They are always taking notes, jotting down voice mails, writing down little reminders…So I thought a notepad would be a perfect, inexpensive gift for someone starting a new job!

Steps:
1. (Above) Go to your nearest CVS, Barnes and Nobles, Wal-Mart, etc. These notepads come in all different designs, shapes, and colors. Pick out a notepad that best fits the person you will be gifting. (Click picture to order notepads above)
2. Google a cute saying, or go to Pinterest to find a cute picture quote. Print out the quote to fit the inside of the notepad cover (right hand side).
3. Use a glue stick or regular glue to paste the quote down.
Extra thought: I recently gave this to a wonderful coworker of mine. All the girls I work with emailed me something nice and encouraging. I printed these messages out in different fonts and pasted them all over the first (blank) page of the notepad. The regular notepad with a quote became even more personal with just a little extra thought!

Finished product :)
